The FEAT transducer has a frequency response in excess of 50kHz, making it compatible with the new SACD high density recordings. It has no moving parts other than the diaphragm itself, and no magnets to interfere with video or other electronics. Also, we can make woofers work with ferrofluid, without a traditional spider suspension. Using a proprietary high performance magnetic fluid, our patented LMS system increases power handling, dynamics and fidelity, while reducing resonances and parts count. Truly more for less. Applications include harsh environments as well as high end audio. We have developed but not yet released an innovative flat panel loudspeaker that can be sectioned to play more than one channel on one panel, and is as clear as window glass! | This is an elegantly engineered ultra-fidelity transducer where the motor and the diaphragm are one and the same. A thin, lightweight piezo-electric plastic film expands and contracts in one direction only when an audio signal voltage is applied to it. Electrostatic quality sound is produced in line sources of any length desired, and line sources may be ganged together to form rectangular sound sources with as little depth as ½ inch. |
High frequency response may extend to as high as 50 kHz. Low frequency response is dependent on surface area and output level desired. In typical home applications, 5 sq. inches will yield a cut-off of 2 kHz @ 87 dB, 1w/1meter. 45 sq. inches will extend the cut-off down to 450 Hz. Applications include flat panel/picture frame loudspeakers, High-end tweeters, and automotive use. This speaker requires a mild step up transformer for operation. Note that it can operate directly from a high voltage amplifier, such as directly from tube circuits without a step-up transformer: very rugged and durable. |

The cooling of the voice coil greatly reduces thermal compression caused by the increased resistance of the voice coil under power. The free and linear resistance of the movement of the cone due to the elimination of the non-linear spider also enhances the output at high excursions. | )) Damping of unwanted resonances. The constant oil bath of the voice coil damps parasitic resonances in voice coil formers and high Q diaphragm materials such as metals and ceramics, improving frequency response and sound quality. ))Improved clarity. The elimination of the distortion prone spider directly behind the speaker cone eliminates a secondary, low quality sound producer, the spider itself.
